As a homeschooling mom of four, I found myself looking for a fresh, creative outlet. I needed something new to do with my hands and I needed it to be stress reducing not inducing! I first learned to knit for a one-time gift for a relative but found a love for the process. Every part of the blanket-making process impacts me- the softness of the yarn against my fingers, the repetitive motion of knitting loop after loop, the achievement of turn skeins of yarn into a blanket. The slowness and stillness of the entire process is what my heart and body deeply need in this season of life.

Manta Bella is Spanish for beautiful blanket. I chose a Spanish name because there are so many memories from Spanish speaking people and places interwoven in my heart and life story. These memories have shaped me, comforted me, awakened me, and brought me tremendous joy through my life especially during some of my hardest seasons. My prayer is that Manta Bella blankets will wrap many people in comfort, joy and love as their stories continue to unfold.
